81% of consumers shop around to bag bargains

A study shows consumers are shopping with their feet as the recession continues to bite, with 81% of them bringing their shopping list from one shop to another each week in search of bargains and promotions.

A survey carried out for Checkout magazine found a further 23% planned to spend less on groceries this year.
