Backbenchers to get question time

FRUSTRATED backbench TDs will be given an opportunity to voice their concerns and quiz ministers in a speaking slot to be introduced in the coming Dáil session.

Coalition politicians have complained in recent months about being sidelined during question time.

Government chief whip Paul Kehoe said he would speak with other party whips about the question time, which is expected to be at least 30 minutes long in the afternoon between Tuesday and Thursday.
