Companies line up to sign Irish X Factor star
The flame-haired singer said she has yet to sign on the dotted line as Simon Cowell’s record company, Syco, controlled the show’s acts.
After the final, it emerged the shy teenager was the public’s favourite when voting statistics revealed she won four out of the nine live shows. Amelia Lily came out on top twice but the winners Little Mix were frontrunner three times, including the final.
Devlin said she was surprised to be approached by several record companies in the show’s aftermath.
“I’ve been offered a few but because I still have the tour and stuff, I can’t sign anything and Syco have first dibs.”
She said she had been booked for performances all over Britain since the leaving the hit show.
“Life since the X factor has been busy. It’s just I’m not locked up in a house.
“I never expected it. I thought I would just disappear and nothing would happen but there is a demand for my voice apparently so it’s cool.
“I spend most of my time now in England because that is where most of my gigs are at the moment. It’s busy which isn’t bad.”
