Life sentence for raping 4 daughters

A MAN who repeatedly raped and assaulted four of his daughters over an 18-year period has been jailed for life.

The 50 year old showed no emotion as the sentence was handed down at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Castlebar, Co Mayo, yesterday.

Mr Justice Paul Carney also imposed a prison sentence of up to seven years of charges of assault, ill-treatment and neglect of the daughters, some of whom were as young as five when the abuse and torture began.
