3am buses to help get revellers back home
Bus Éireann’s Nightrider services from the city centre to Douglas, Carrigaline, Carrigtwohill, Midleton, Curraheen and Ballincollig will continue throughout the Christmas period.
The company will run the buses over the next three Friday and Saturday nights, with departures for each route at 1am, 2am and 3am.
The service to Carrigaline will depart from outside the Brown Thomas store on St Patrick’s Street, and stops at Douglas East Village and Maryborough Hill.
The cost for the journey to the two Douglas destinations will be €3. The Carrigaline trip will cost €5.
Services to Ballincollig, via Curraheen Road, Melbourne Road and Bishopstown, will leave from outside Debenhams, also on St Patrick’s Street. The single fare to Bishopstown will be €3 and €5 to Ballincollig.
Buses for Carrigtwohill and Midleton will leave from outside the Savoy on St Patrick Street, costing €5 for a trip to Carrigtwohill and €8 for Midleton.
Iarnród Éireann has suspended car parking charges at stations on the Cork-Midleton line until January 3.
