Temporary agency workers entitled to full-time pay

TEMPORARY agency workers will be entitled to the same pay and working conditions as full-time employees from Monday, when an EU directive comes into effect.

Employers argue that the directive will drive up their costs and could ultimately cause job losses.

But Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton yesterday failed in an attempt to negate the immediate impact of the legislation.
