A HIGH COURT judge has suggested he may visit facilities in Britain being used for referrals from the Irish care system.

Mr Justice George Birmingham said yesterday: “I am struck by the fact that St Andrew’s [in Scotland] is emerging more and more in the list.”

He made his comments while dealing with the minors’ list in the High Court, which heard that a 16-year-old girl who has been cleared for a special care place but for whom no place was available last week has since gone missing.
