Decision to stay in eurozone needed soon: FG TD

A DECISION on whether or not to stay in the euro will have to be made in the “near future”, according to a Fine Gael TD.

Dublin South East TD Eoghan Murphy said staying in the euro “could mean the end of the state’s fiscal autonomy” while exiting could signal “the beginning of our economic recovery”.

He spoke as Taoiseach Enda Kenny met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin.
