Garda: Joel death ‘fully investigated’

A GARDA superintendent has denied claims they did not carry out an investigation into the death of Evelyn Joel.

Rosario Boyle SC, for Eleanor Joel, suggested to retired Superintendent Peter Finn that gardaí did not investigate Ms Joel’s death — to which he replied “it was fully investigated”.

However, Ms Boyle said that if there had been an investigation it would have been established there was a systems failure.
