Public facing 4 more years of pain

THE public is facing four more years of pain, at the end of which hundreds of thousands of people will still be unemployed.

Finance Minister Michael Noonan pleaded with citizens to keep faith in the Government, saying nobody wanted to see the kind of social unrest that is crippling Greece.

“We’re asking the people to stay with us because we have a clear plan for getting the country out of the difficulty that it’s in,” he said at the launch of the Government’s medium-term outlook yesterday.
