Flood-hit homes to be assessed for damage

HOMEOWNERS and victims affected by the recent flooding are to be assessed as three Government departments examine the scale of the damage caused by the torrential rains.

The Government agreed yesterday to assess the extent of damage to homes as well as what immediate relief households might need.

Social Protection Minister Joan Burton is expected to decide on what humanitarian relief can be given to those worst affected by the floods.
