LEGISLATION allowing cuts to judges’ pay is on the way as the Government welcomed the results of the referendum which pave the way for changing the Constitution.

In a resounding win for the Government-backed proposal, almost 80% of voters supported the 29th amendment on judges’ pay.

Justice Minister Alan Shatter said there had been “substantial public support” for the proposal.
