Robberies of banks and post offices up 31%

ROBBERIES of banks and post offices, as well as security vans heists, have soared in the past three months, crime figures show.

Thefts from the person have jumped and burglaries continue to rise.

Reflecting trends in organised crime, there has been a sharp increase in cases of false imprisonment and bomb attacks.
