Houses going for 14% less than one year ago

THE decline in house prices shows no sign of abating, with properties selling for over 14% less than they fetched just 12 months ago.

House prices have fallen for 44 straight months and homes across the country are now worth 44% less than at the height of the property boom in 2007.

The latest CSO Resid-ential Property Price Index shows that in September prices fell 1.5% on the previous month and 14.3% on the same month last year.
