A LESBIAN couple are considering whether to continue with their appeal against a High Court ruling that they do not have the right to marry here under the Constitution.

The Supreme Court yesterday refused to grant an application made on behalf of Dr Katherine Zappone and Dr Ann Louise Gilligan to make an amendment to their case to argue a section of the Civil Registration Act 2004 is unconstitutional.

Afterwards, legal counsel said the couple were “considering the position on continuing with the appeal”.
