Careers event to offer 200 jobs

OVER 200 jobs are to be offered at a major careers event taking place in one of the country’s worst unemployment blackspots next week.

The “Jobs and Careers Expo” was announced yesterday in Waterford by the local chamber of commerce and will offer jobs in a broad range of business sectors in the city and the across the wider south-east region.

The event takes place on Friday of next week, October 21, which will mark a fortnight since the closure of the TalkTalk call centre in Waterford’s IDA industrial estate with the loss of 575 jobs.
