TIPPERARY has been dealt yet another employment blow with the closure of a Clonmel electrical company resulting in the loss of 142 jobs.

Announcing it was to cease trading JRE Group blamed the decision on “adverse trading conditions prevailing at present, particularly in the construction sector”.

The news comes just weeks after plans for a supercasino, which would have provided hundreds of jobs for Tipperary, suffered a major setback when the Government announced legislation that will rule out “Las Vegas-type” resorts.
