Lack of social housing will see ‘return to the 1940s’

SHANNON is facing the prospect of a repeat of the 40s and 50s when it was common for three generations to live under the one roof due to a chronic lack of social housing.

With 551 applicants in Shannon currently on a housing waiting list, local town councillors are up in arms about the lack of plans for any new social houses.
