Elderly woman recovering after crash

AN elderly woman is recovering in hospital after narrowly avoiding serious injuries during a head-on collision between two cars en route to Dingle.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 4.30pm yesterday, involved two vehicles travelling in opposite directions in the Annascaul region of Co Kerry.

It is understood that the cars were driven by an elderly woman in her 70s and a middle-aged man, who was driving with his teenage son. The two men did not suffer any injuries but were taken to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee as a precaution.
