The agency also agreed to pay Mr Craig’s salary until the end of November, the balance of his entitlement to notice under his contract of employment.

Oisín Quinn, counsel for Mr Craig, of Greenlea Grove, Terenure, Dublin, told Mr Justice John MacMenamin yesterday that his client was accepting the salary payments without prejudice to his contention that his employment had not been validly terminated.

Mr Quinn said the parties had reached agreement in relation to undertakings to facilitate an early trial.

Brian Murray, counsel for Fás, gave undertakings no further steps would be taken to implement the dismissal or publicly disclose any confidential information.

An application for permanent restraints against Fás was to have been heard yesterday but the judge said the matter should be dealt with by way of an early trial on October 18.
