Arson attack garda station to be replaced

THE state has lodged a planning application to replace and upgrade a garda station which was destroyed in an arson attack.

Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Brian Hayes confirmed a Part 9 planning consultation for the new garda station in Blarney has been submitted to Cork County Council.

It gives notice of the proposed development and seeks observations from the local council and members of the public.
