Irish X-Factor star Janet an overnight web sensation

IRISH X-Factor star Janet Devlin has become an overnight internet sensation after her amazing audition on the hit television show.

Interest in the stunning singer from Gortin in Co Tyrone has rocketed after people learned of the 16-year-old with the amazing voice. Hundreds of thousands of fans are now tracking her performances on You Tube.

Her videos have now been viewed almost a million times since she stunned judges, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa, on Saturday night’s show. Even home-made videos taken by Janet in her own kitchen are proving to be huge hits.

Her version of Adele’s Someone Like You has now been viewed 153,038 times, while her version of Elton John’s Your Song has been watched a massive 166,007 times.

Another cover version of Matt Cardle’s When We Collide has also clocked up a whopping 151,672 hits on You Tube.

The official X-Factor audition has also been viewed more than 300,000 times on You Tube by viewers who can’t get enough of the youngster.

Even footage of Janet’s early days as a 14-year-old is in huge demand.

A home-made video of her competing in a Stars in Your Eyes contest at her school, Drumragh Integrated College in Omagh, has been viewed by almost 12,000 people.

Dad Aquinas admits a driven Janet uploaded all her own videos onto You Tube herself, such is her interest in singing.

“She has been doing this for ages. The upper part of the living room is like her recording studio.

“It’s there she does all her recording and uploading to You Tube,” he said.
