A TWO-YEAR-OLD child rescued by gardaí from a burning house was fighting for her life last night after a suspicious fire in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

The child’s mother was also in a serious condition.

Two gardaí, a neighbour and six occupants of a house, were treated in hospital after a fire broke out at the home of Sharon Gahan, 30, and Anthony Maloney, 31, in Mullingar.
