Skipper: I don’t plan to do it again

“I DON’T plan to do it again,” skipper and owner of the Rambler 100, George David, 69, said, just hours after he was plucked from the dark stormy waters off the Fastnet Rock.

Alert, relieved and feeling “100%”, Mr David praised the rescue efforts of the Baltimore RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and the professionalism of his 20 crew mates aboard the stricken vessel.

“What’s been amazing about this whole experience is the complete confidence we have in the sea rescue capabilities available here in Ireland. Even as we floated in the water awaiting the arrival of a vessel, we knew it would come,” Mr David said as he sipped a hot tea at Baltimore Sailing Club late on Monday night.
