Reilly urged to save Limerick hospital beds

TRADE and Development Minister Jan O’Sullivan has asked Health Minister James Reilly to get the HSE to rearrange its budget to retain 25 beds at the Limerick’s main hospital that are due to be taken out of use this week.

Ms O’Sullivan’s intervention came after nurses at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital held an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss action over the proposals.

Nursing leaders are due to meet hospital management today and said they will seek reassurances about the maintenance of services at the hospital.
