Dig the nation out of a hole

THE country might be in a hole but that doesn’t mean we have to stop digging.

Game for a laugh locals in the Kerry village of Milltown will play host to the inaugural Irish Hole Digging Championships, which is destined to become a sure-fire hit on Sunday, August 28.

“We all know that we are in a bit of a hole right now but this might be just the thing to lift us out of it,” said organising committee chairman Maurice Harmon.
