AN independent review has exonerated surgeons at a Co Meath hospital where surgery under anaesthesia was suspended last year after concerns were raised in relation to a number of patient outcomes.

The review of four cases of laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan found “no negligent errors in surgical technique” by any of the three surgeons involved.

However, it found there were “professional practice issues”, most notably record-keeping and patient communication.
