Food industry gains confidence with Coveney’s leadership

THERE’S an air of confidence at most levels of the food business, not least due to the Food Harvest 2020 plan, and a feeling that there’s someone at the wheel.

Results have been encouraging, with agri-food exports growth of more than 11% in 2010, and continuing in 2011.

Exports for the first five months are estimated to have increased by €400 million, or 13%, and prospects for the remainder of 2011 are broadly positive.
