‘Every victim is sick with the lies’

FERRY sex abuse victim Derek Mulligan described the statement by Coláiste Cholmcille as “lies”.

‘Every victim is sick with the lies’

Mr Mulligan waived his anonymity on Monday, after Ferry was sentenced to 18 years for raping and sexually abusing four boys at the Donegal school.

He said Ferry was not supervised by staff and claimed that he continued to have keys to the school building, despite the assertions of the school.

“Every one of the victims are sick to the stomach with the lies,” he told the News at One.

He claimed that when Ferry was arrested on June 6, 2010, at the school he was on his own.

“He wasn’t being watched. Stop telling us lies and stop saying the place was unoccupied for nine months, when you know fine well it wasn’t.”

Mr Mulligan claimed Ferry had keys to the main school building, known as Ard Scoil Mhuire.

He said to the school authorities: “You turn around and say you took him back in. When you knew what he was capable of, he was allowed to be in for some of those courses. Why did they take him back in when they knew what he was capable of in 2002.”

Mr Mulligan called on people to come forward and tell the Garda that Ferry was at the school and not supervised.
