A GROUP of protesters who stage “burn the bondholders” marches every weekend are tracking the staggering multi-billion bond pay-outs to garner more support.

The Ballyhea Bondholder Bailout Protest Group, which has been marching through the north Cork village of Ballyhea every Sunday for the last 20 weeks, is now using a new blogsite, bondwatchireland, to show people just how much money is being paid out every month.

“In July, we will pay off €215,556,390 in bonds, failed private inter-bank investments which our new masters in Europe, the ECB, have insisted we must assume,” the group’s founder, Diarmuid O’Flynn said. “By the end of this year, €7bn; in 2012, another €20bn; in 2013, another €17bn; thereafter, over €25bn.
