Autopsy: Corkman did not die in unlawful circumstances

A POSTMORTEM has established that a man who died while in Garda custody in Cork city on Saturday morning did not sustain his injuries in unlawful circumstances.

The man, who was in his 40s, was arrested at approximately 7pm last Fridayunder the Public OrderAct following an incident at Parnell Place in the city.

He was taken to the nearby Bridewell Garda Station but later when gardaí went to him in his cell in the early hours of the morning they could not rouse him.
