Man slashed in bottle attack saved by fast-acting nurse

A MAN is recovering in hospital after he was slashed across the neck with a broken bottle and was only saved by the quick actions of a local nurse.

The incident began in a green area at Church View, Sixmilebridge, Co Clare, in the early hours of Sunday morning and is being investigated by gardaí.

It is understood that the man in his 30s sustained his injuries during what has been described as a “domestic incident.” The man was slashed across the neck with a broken bottle and was thought to have died when gardaí arrived.
