IRELAND will “seduce” tourists away from next year’s London Olympics with a visa waiver scheme, ministers have promised.

The move to allow visitors from 16 countries to enter Ireland without specialised documentation will see the country rely on British authorities to weed out “undesirables”.

This comes despite a major political row in Britain after border police failed to prevent Sheikh Raed Salah, branded an “anti-semitic extremist” and placed on a banned entry list, from passing through Heathrow at the weekend and attending several speaking engagements before being arrested.
