City considers sale of refuse service

CORK’S city manager is poised to decide within days on the possible sale of the council’s loss-making domestic refuse collection service to a private firm.

Tim Lucey declined to be drawn on the issue last night which will affect some 25,000 city households.

“No decision has been made yet,” he said.
