Schoolgirl returns to class after attempted abduction
In an incident which has horrified parents, the fourth class girl from Bray, Co Wicklow, was approached by an unidentified male last Wednesday morning, grabbed by the wrist and bundled into a car as she walked to school.
Luckily, the quick thinking youngster managed to escape her kidnapper’s clutches by crawling to the other side of the vehicle and leaping out onto a busy Boghall road where she fled to her nearby school to raise the alarm.
Danielle’s father, Nigel Hamilton, revealed yesterday how he accompanied his daughter to her classroom and was amazed at how the youngster has bounced back following her ordeal. “I went into the school with her and thanked the staff there for their help because they were very good with the situation,” he said.
The hunt continues for the attempted abductor who was driving a new model white Volkswagen Golf or Polo. No arrests have yet been made.
The man is described as middle-aged and was sporting a bandana wrapped around his mouth when he approached the terrified youth and bundled her into his car.
Gardaí in Bray still want to talk to anyone who may have spotted any suspicious activity in the Boghall road are of the town last Wednesday morning or anyone who may have any information.
