A bedtime story no child will hear
Adam Mansbach’s satirical children’s tome, Go The F**k To Sleep, is set to wake up the literary world when it is officially published this week.
Mansbach’s book began life when he posted a message on Facebook borne out of frustration at his failure to get his two-year-old daughter, Vivien, to fall asleep.
“Look out for my forthcoming children’s book, Go The F**k To Sleep,” read Mansbach’s post. The response from his friends prompted Mansbach to actually write a verse of the text and, before you could say Gruffalo, it went viral.
Its imminent launch in hardcopy in Britain and the US is expected to see Go The F**k To Sleep catapulted to the top of the bestseller lists.
It has already topped the Amazon charts in both countries on pre-order sales alone.
An audiobook version of the story, read by actor Samuel L Jackson, has also become an internet hit, while the film rights have already being sold to Fox Studios.
