Woman’s body recovered near Cliffs of Moher

A BODY was recovered yesterday from a sea cave in Clare on the second day of a search for a missing Ennis woman.

The body of the 21-year-old woman was found in a cave at the base of the Cliffs of Moher at around 11.30am. The woman had been missing since early on Monday morning.

A ranger at the cliffs spotted a body in the water shortly before 9am on Monday and raised the alarm. Gardaí and volunteers from the nearby Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard (ICG) went to the scene, but the body disappeared from view The search was called off, but yesterday the body was observed close to the sea cave and was retrieved.
