180 new jobs at postal company
The jobs will be based primarily at CityPost’s headquarters in Ballymount but also at its 32 regional handling centres nationwide. The new jobs will primarily comprise mail sorting, delivery and collection, operations and administration roles.
The company currently employs 188 staff, having grown from a workforce of 20 just 10 years ago.
The announcement to effectively double its workforce over the next 18 months comes following recent expansion and a number of high-profile contract wins in the last six months.
CityPost delivers to 85% of businesses and 65% of residential homes. Its clients include Woodies, Stena Line, Golden Pages, Superquinn and Fingal County Council. The company is also contracted to deliver the Irish national telephone directory nationwide since 2002.
CityPost is to introduce a new electric postal bike service in Ireland in the coming weeks which, it says, will provide companies with a 20% saving on their annual postal bill.
It does not currently offer postal services to households but plans are in place to roll out general public services in the near future.
The company also has a large presence in Portugal where it employs 120 staff at its base in Queluz on the outskirts of Lisbon.
