Half of people on dole ‘face jobs market exclusion’
The EU Commissioner for Jobs, László Andor, was in Dublin yesterday and warned that “severe measures” lie ahead before the national finances are put in order and the country’s debt is reduced.
He said the jobs initiative unveiled in the Dáil last month needs to be “built upon further”, and praised the reversal of the minimum wage cut — even though it was demanded by the European Commission in the first place.
