THE Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation has urged the public to be vigilant following reports that a number of Irish banks have experienced a significant increase in email phishing attacks.

Phishing is a trick by which criminals try to get internet banking customers to hand over their security details. Anyone with concern should contact their bank of garda station.
