Internet scam targets domain name registrants

A NEW internet scam has emerged aimed at online businesses seeking to renew domain names.

Blacknight Solutions, Ireland’s largest registrar of domain names, warned that these kind of scams are on the increase and, just like the Xbox fraud, are aimed at stealing credit card and banking information.

The scam operates through unsolicited emails or letters by post to domain name registrants, hoping to trick them into giving away bank account details.
