ISPCA fails to sell bequeathed house

THE Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) confirmed yesterday it has failed to sell by private treaty a house bequeathed by a Clare doctor.

Earlier this month, the charity failed to attract a single bid at auction for the property, formerly owned by GP and dog lover Dr Maura Lernihan who died in 2007.

Auctioneer John Casey put the property up for public auction with a reserve of €200,000.
