Gilmore: Dissidents have no mandate

EAMON GILMORE has said that threats by dissident republicans have no place in the Ireland of today.

The Tánaiste’s criticism of Real IRA threats, made in the North at the weekend, were echoed by a senior Irish-American congressman who is visiting Ireland.

Mr Gilmore said security had also been beefed up ahead of the Queen of England’s visit here next month, in line with increased dissident republican activity.
