€45k quake fund transfer

THE Ireland Japan Association has announced that a second tranche of funds amounting to €45,000 has been transferred to the Japanese Red Cross Society for the relief of distress in the devastated area of North-East Japan.

This brings to €80,000 the amount of cash contributed by Irish people to the earthquake appeal fund and actually transferred for immediate use in Japan.

Anyone who wishes can donate to the fund at Bank of Ireland, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.
