Inquiry into garda collision begins

GARDAÍ have launched an investigation after four officers were injured in a collision between two garda vehicles in Cork city.

A high-powered Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Volvo patrol car, and a Ford Transit garda van, were responding to a call at about 1.30am yesterday when they collided at the junction of the city’s South Link Road and Boreenmanna Road.

Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction at the time of the accident.
