Diageo rapped by watchdog

DIAGEO Ireland has been rapped by drinks watchdog MEAS over a drinks’ promotion held in the Odeon Bar in Harcourt Street, Dublin.

The Budweiser promotion offered a free pint of lager beer with ever three pints purchased during last year’s soccer World Cup finals.

A complaint about Diageo Ireland was made by Heineken Ireland who claimed the promotion could encourage excessive drinking.
