Galway in second water crisis

The Knocknacarra cut-off follows the contamination of the supply to 5,000 people in Connemara this week. A burst pipe on Monday cut the supply to Knocknacarra and Kingston. “If there is a leak then the system has to be shut down. There is a need for a new reservoir to service the houses in that area as the supply there is on a knife-edge,” said a spokesperson for Galway City County.
