No FG political donation declared since 2002

FINE GAEL has not declared a single political donation to the state’s ethics watchdog since Enda Kenny became leader of the party in 2002.

Shortly after becoming leader Mr Kenny reversed a ban on corporate donations put in place by his predecessor Michael Noonan.

From circa late 2002 Fine Gael has been accepting donations from private sources — but the money is hidden from view of the ethics watchdog.
