Slimmed down pair weigh up their losses

TRUE love can make problems fade away — and it has certainly taken a big weight off the shoulders of a Limerick couple.

Slimmed down pair weigh up their losses

Sean and Marie O’Donnell have lost nearly 10 stone between them in just 20 weeks and have gained an entirely new attitude to life.

“Our marriage has definitely improved,” Sean said. “That we did this together was a huge asset and brought us closer together.”

This week, building contractor Sean had an application form for the Great Limerick Run in his hands — something he wouldn’t previously have dreamed of doing. “If I can do this, anyone can,” he said.

The couple, from Castlemahon, Limerick, have become local celebrities thanks to their appearance on the RTÉ fashion show Off The Rails, which helped them re-style their clothes.

Sean weighed 21 stone, nine pounds before he began losing weight last June with Motivation Weight Management Clinics.

Just before the end of the 20-week programme, he had dropped almost seven stone, losing a stone and a half in the first week alone.

Mum-of-two Marie was 12 stone, six pounds before the weight loss.
