Norris pledges to ‘shine a light’ on mental health if elected president

INDEPENDENT Senator David Norris has pledged to “shine a light” on mental health issues and promote Ireland’s trade and cultural interests if elected president.

Mr Norris formally launched his bid for the Áras yesterday, but admitted he faced an “arduous” task in actually obtaining a nomination to run.

In order to stand, a candidate must be nominated by at least 20 TDs and/or senators or at least four city and/or county councils.
